D'Drum performs in Hong Kong

In January, 2003, D'Drum traveled to Hong Kong to participate in an unusual staging of Mozart's well known Opera, " The Magic Flute". Performing with musicians and actors of the respected and reknowned Beijing Opera , D'Drum brought their unique sound of world percussion to accompany the dance of Nyomen Wenten , acknowledged master of Balinese dance and music, and his wife Nanik, also known as a torchbearer of Javanese dance.

In addition to arranging parts of Mozart's score for adaptation to their sound and instrumentation for the opera, D'Drum was invited to conduct a master class on world musc for the University of Hong Kong's school of music. The group has been invited back again next year for more performances.
